The Gaja family - Angelo in front, with from L-R Gaia, Giovanni, Lucia and Rossana

Settling in Piedmont, north-west Italy, in the mid-17th century, our family has been living and working in the Langhehills ever since. Although more recent adventures have taken us to Tuscany to the medieval and romantic village ofMontalcino, to Bolgheri on the stunning western coast, and to Sicily, our familyhome remains the beautiful village of Barbaresco.

Barbaresco

The beautiful village of Barbaresco is home to Gaja. In Piedmont the vineyards extend over 96ha in the Barbaresco district (Barbaresco and Treiso), and in the Barolo district (Serralunga d’Alba and La Morra). Further south in Tuscany their Pieve Santa Restituta estate in Montalcino covers some 27ha of vineyard and by the coast, in Bolgheri, plantings of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Syrah and Sangiovese extend to some 126ha.
